MyoImage platform

The platform provides state-of-the-art imaging and image analysis equipment, offering the widest possible range of imaging options while meeting demanding quality standards, through a variety of approaches: from the infinitely small, with electron microscopy, to conventional widefield microscopy. Several microscopes are fully motorised for medium-throughput screening. Two systems also make it possible to monitor living cells over the long term, and two others produce fluorescence images at maximum resolution. Finally, the recent acquisition of a holotomography microscope allows living cells to be observed at a resolution equivalent to that of a confocal microscope, but without fluorescent labelling.

MyoImage also develops image analysis scripts, some of them specific to myology, using open source software such as FiJi, Python, Qupath and Cell Profiler, and supports users with the NIS, Zen and Metamorph software packages.

In 2025, the MyoImage platform met the needs of 30 image analysis projects (1 to 10 TB of data), involving 71 people, and carried out an external project in collaboration with the Sant Joan de Déu Research Institute in Barcelona (Spain).

  • A NanoLive holotomography microscope, equipped with an incubation chamber
  • A Zeiss widefield microscope equipped with the Apotome module.
  • A Zeiss Axio Observer widefield microscope
  • An Incucyte Sartorius system for long-term monitoring of several culture plates
  • Two Life Technologies Evos fluorescence microscopes
  • A Keyence VHX-S750 microscope for chemical staining
  • A Phillips CM120 electron microscope
  • Two image analysis workstations with graphics cards suited to artificial intelligence
