I-Motion Adults welcomes adult patients with a neuromuscular disease who are enrolled in the clinical trials run by the Institute of Myology

I-Motion Adults

As the operational arm of clinical research, the I-Motion Adults platform, which opened in 2019 at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, makes it possible to offer innovative treatments to patients with neuromuscular diseases within a secure framework.

Affiliated with leading hospital departments and supported by specialist teams, the platform hosts therapeutic trials as well as natural history studies that provide a better understanding of how these diseases progress. The team, led by Saadane Kirouani, includes neurologists, project managers, clinical research associates (CRAs), a quality manager, a team of nurses, clinical study technicians and physiotherapists.

The I-Motion Adults platform is located in the Babinski building on the Pitié-Salpêtrière university hospital site and works in close collaboration with the Service of Neuro-Myology headed by Prof. Ana Ferreiro, as well as with the various divisions of the hospital and the research laboratories of the Institute of Myology.

Patient recruitment

I-Motion enables broad recruitment of patients with neuromuscular and neurological diseases who may be enrolled in clinical studies:

  • Patients followed up at the reference centres for neuromuscular diseases and channelopathies in the Neuro-Myology, Neurology and Internal Medicine departments of the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital (active caseload: ~3,000 patients)
  • Patients referred by other centres
  • Patient recruitment through a network built with several hospitals and patient associations in France and abroad

To take part in a clinical trial at I-Motion, you must be covered by a European social security scheme. You then need to book an appointment with one of our doctors, who will assess whether you are eligible.

Do you have to pay to take part in a clinical trial?

The duration depends both on the phase of the trial (1, 2 or 3) and on the study protocol. This can be discussed in detail at a first consultation, according to the trial you are interested in.
