In September 2026, France is getting active with the “Septembre Bouge” campaign. Organised jointly by the Ministry of Sport, Youth and Associations, and the Ministry of Health, this campaign marks the first edition of the Month of Physical Activity and Sport, designed to build on the momentum of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It aims to promote sport as a means of improving health and wellbeing and to make physical and sporting activity a natural part of daily life for as many people as possible.
The “Septembre Bouge” campaign aims to promote sport as a means of improving health and wellbeing, and to makephysical and sporting activity a daily habit for as many people as possible.
This event takes the form of a national tour to engage with the public and will travel across France throughout September, visiting 18 cities along the route, each featuring dedicated zones where free workshops, demonstrations and introductorysports sessions open to all will be offered, as well as talks by professionals and partners, and meetings with localorganisations (charities, sports federations, public health organisations, etc.).
The Institut de Myologie Association is a partner in this awareness-raising and prevention initiative aimed at combating a sedentary lifestyle and will be present at three key stops on the tour – on 3, 14 and 30 September in Villeneuve d’Ascq, Marseille and Paris – to inform and raise awareness amongst the general public about the benefits of our muscles for our overall health, featuring in particular strength tests as well as games and quizzes centred on muscles.
Launch of “Septembre Bouge” in Villeneuve d’Ascq on 3 September: a successful first awareness-raising day!
On the opening day, teams from the Institute of Myology were present at the Decathlon ARENA – Stade Pierre Mauroy to promote physical activity and combat a sedentary lifestyle amongst a large, curious and very active crowd!
Over 300 people turned out to find out about our research into muscles, have a chat and test their strength. A diverse and interested audience, ranging from primary and secondary school pupils and university students to athletes, physiotherapists, healthcare professionals, care home staff and older people… Everyone was able to uncover some surprising secrets about muscles at the Institute’s stand and test their strength using our MyoGrip devices.
The Minister for Sport, Youth and Associations, Marina Ferrari, opened the event and emphasised that it was essential to “make physical and sporting activity a daily health habit, accessible to everyone, throughout France.”
Come and visit the upcoming #SeptembreBouge stands on 14 September in Marseille at the Old Port with our teams, and on 30 September in Paris at Place de la Bastille for the closing event at the #SeptembreBouge Sport-Santé village.
