Three speakers from the Institute of Myology were honored at the 29th International Congress of the World Muscle Society (WMS), held October 8-12, 2024 in Prague, Czech Republic.
Beatrice Labella, internist in neurology at the University of Brescia in Italy, is currently training at the Neuromuscular Investigation Center in the Morphological Unit directed by Teresinha Evangelista. She was awarded the Elsevier Runner Up for Poster presentation prize for her work on the characterization of autophagic myopathies linked to treatment with colchicine and hydroxychloroquine.

Gorka Fernandez-Eulate is a neurologist in the Service of Neuro-Myology headed by Prof. Bertrand Fontaine. The work rewarded concerns the description of the clinical and genetic spectra of TIA1/SQSTM1 digenic myopathy.
