CENTRE OF EXPERTISE
IN MUSCLE
The activities of the Institute of Myology
The Institute of Myology brings together 300 experts in muscle and muscle disease who have been dedicated for 30 years to muscle science and medicine, known as myology. Centred on the patient, this international centre of expertise coordinates activities in diagnosis, care, clinical research, evaluation, basic and applied research, and teaching.
Clinical activities and trials
Tailored care and long-term follow-up
for patients
Muscle investigation and evaluation
Studying muscle and evaluating the efficacy of innovative therapies for patients
Research in myology
Understanding muscle and discovering new therapies for patients
Teaching
Spreading knowledge about muscle and muscle disease and raising the profile of myology
OUR MISSION
Accelerating muscle research and medicine
Studying, diagnosing, evaluating and treating muscle and muscle disease, and promoting myology as a cross-cutting discipline for the benefit of as many people as possible.

Clinical trials
The Institute of Myology has two clinical trial platforms,
I-Motion Pediatric and I-Motion Adults.
Paediatric clinical trials
I-Motion Pediatric is a clinical trial platform for children with neuromuscular diseases. It runs around 15 trials sponsored by academic or industry laboratories.
Adult clinical trials
I-Motion Adults evaluates new treatments in adults with neuromuscular diseases. Around 40 trials are currently under way there.
All about muscle
600: that is the number of muscles in our body.
Beyond their role in motor function and movement, our muscles interact with many organs and are essential to our overall health.
