Gender equality index
Gender equality index between men and women
The French Act of 5 September 2018 “ pour la liberté de choisir son avenir professionnel ” (on the freedom to choose one’s professional future) aims to reduce inequalities between men and women. In particular, it provides for the introduction of a gender equality index.
Made up of several indicators adding up to a total score out of 100, this index is used to assess the situation of women and men within the organisation. Calculating the index produces an overall score out of 100.
Where the score is below 75 points out of 100, the organisation must take corrective measures or face a financial penalty. Where the score is below 85 points out of 100, it must set improvement targets.
