The 16th Euro-Latin American Summer School in Myology, EVELAM 2023, took place in a hybrid format from 29 November to 2 December 2023 in Colonia de Sacramento, Uruguay. It brought together more than 200 participants from 10 different Latin American countries. The scientific programme ranged from fundamental myology to the most recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular diseases, and included lectures, debates and workshops. One of the debates focused on the difficulties encountered in gaining access to costly background therapies for SMA in Latin America.
The next edition of EVELAM will be held in Cuzco, Peru, from 27 to 30 November 2024.
