On 1st of December, Garou, the mentor of Téléthon 2016, came to the Institute of Myology. Accompanied by Laurence Tiennot-Herment, President of the AFM-Téléthon, and the four ambassador families, the Quebec singer was able to discover the Institute’s various areas of expertise, from innovation to evaluation, including consultation.

“The Institute of Myology is a mythical place. The pioneers of the Telethon dreamed of a place dedicated to myology. Here, it is the heart in every sense of the word” emphasized Laurence Tiennot-Herment.

During the visit, led by Gillian Butler-Browne, Director of the Research Center, Jean-Yves Hogrel, Laboratory Manager and Denis Furling, Research Director, Garou was able to discover the equipment used daily by researchers and clinicians. Which are myotools, valuable tools for measuring muscle strength and developed by the Institute of Myology.

“We’re happy to have you here to give us courage and nudge us to excellence and talent,” emphasized Marianne Perreau-Saussine, general secretary of the Institute of Myology.

Garou took the opportunity to congratulate the teams and renew his support for the AFM-Telethon:

“I am honored, happy and proud to be a mentor I am overwhelmed by your work.”
