To mark the 4th edition of Muscle Week, the Institute of Myology is opening its doors on Saturday 6 June, from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Come and meet our scientific experts, doctors and researchers to discover muscles in all their forms, understand how they work and the interactions they form within our bodies.

Muscles are, in fact, much more than simply the engines of our movements: they are essential to our ability to move, breathe, digest, communicate through smiling and speaking, and perform many other functions vital to our daily lives.

  • Lecture: ‘Muscles and the brain: the two pillars of physical activity’, from 10.00 am to 11.00 am

 

  • Tours of our laboratories between 11.00 am and 4.00 pm> Tour of the Neuromuscular Physiology and Evaluation Laboratory: Discover the laboratory’s activities and strength tests using Myotools

    > Tour of the MRI Imaging and Spectroscopy Laboratory: Discover the laboratory’s activities and our specific MRI imaging programmes for studies on neuromuscular disorders

    > Tour of the Myology Research Centre Laboratories:
    . Immerse yourself in the heart of research into muscle and muscle diseases and discover the laboratory’s activities
    . Delve into the infinitely small: observe spectacular images of muscle cells using our state-of-the-art microscopy equipment

 

  • Partner stand

    > The FFTT (French Table Tennis Federation) will be highlighting the benefits of table tennis in combating a sedentary lifestyle, featuring in particular ‘Ping Santé’ and ‘PingVR’, an innovative virtual reality activity, and will be offering fitness assessments for all ages.
