A football legends’ match in benefit of ALS research

The Institut de Myologie Association is partnering with AS SAINT-ÉTIENNE, the organiser of the Match of the Heroes, which will take place on 31 May at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium in Saint-Étienne. The match will see the Heroes team – made up of figures from the worlds of sport and culture – take on a team of former Les Verts legends.

The match is being organised in tribute to one of their own, Georges Bereta, captain of Les Verts, who passed away from Charcot’s disease (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, ALS) in 2023. All proceeds from this event will be donated to our Association Institut de Myologie to support the Institute’s ALS research projects.

The press conference to launch the Match of the Heroes took place on Saturday 7 March, broadcast live from the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium in Saint-Étienne – known as ‘Le Chaudron’ – attended by, among others, Mélinée Frenkian, Director of Strategic Projects at the Institute of Myology.

➣ See you on 31 May for this exceptional match, which will bring together the “Les Verts” legendary football players for a unique moment of sharing, solidarity and passing on the torch, with all proceeds going to our Institute of Myology Association to support ALS research.
