An international consortium has developed a web application based on artificial intelligence (machine learning) for the automated diagnosis of neuromuscular diseases using muscle MRI. It can be accessed by anyone on the Myo-Guide platform.
- To develop it, 34 centres in Europe, America and Asia shared 2,961 muscle MRI scans of patients with 20 different pathologies.
- Its accuracy is 64.8%.
- Its diagnostic performance was better than that of four experts.
- The model identified key features for differential diagnosis, facilitating clinical decision-making.
Online access to the Myo-Guide platform aims to promote the use of muscle MRI in patient diagnosis. This work was partly funded by the AFM-Téléthon.
