The annual Journées des Familles event organised by the AFM-Téléthon at the Parc Floral near Paris was held on 4 and 5 July. Nearly 1,700 families, volunteers, members, researchers and professionals attended. It was a great opportunity for everyone to meet up, get informed and exchange ideas in a festive atmosphere.
The programme included meetings between doctors and researchers and families, disease-specific round tables, workshops, a young researchers’ symposium, etc.
Experts from the Institute of Myology were on hand to talk to patients and their families in these different areas, particularly in the Clinicians & Researchers Meeting Pavilion.
At the Researchers’ Café, in the area shared with the other laboratories of the Institute for Biotherapies (Genethon and I-Stem), the team from the Institute’s neuromuscular physiology and evaluation laboratory was on hand to run the ‘The amazing secrets of muscle’ stand, offering strength tests using Myotools to curious and interested visitors.
