Initially drawn up in 2001, the recommendations for good practice on rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system in neuromuscular diseases have been updated in a therapeutic context which has changed considerably over the last two decades with :
- the arrival of new biotherapies, the introduction of graft-free spinal instrumentation and new technical aids, and exercise training,
- an ageing population of patients suffering from neuromuscular pathologies, earlier medical treatment, improved motor functions, etc.
These developments have led to a real paradigm shift in rehabilitation, focusing on the appropriation of existing or new physical capacities and their consolidation, rather than trying to limit the effects of the disease.
These recommendations, drawn up with the support of the AFM-Téléthon and intended for all those involved in rehabilitation for neuromuscular diseases, are available online, in French.
