6th Congress of Myology

From March 25 to 28, AFM-Téléthon is organizing Myology 2019, a congress dedicated to muscles, and gathering 800 experts from 35 countries around the world.

Twenty years after the first congress of Myology in 2000, it is clear that knowledge about neuromuscular diseases has taken a significant leap forward. Medical care has evolved considerably, improving the quality of life and life expectancy of patients. The first innovative therapies, capable of inverting the course of the disease, become available. Myology, the science and medicine of muscles, has become the spearhead of therapeutic innovation.

For its sixth edition, the international congress of myology will take place in Bordeaux. More than 800 international experts are expected to attend. Seven plenary sessions, 12 parallel sessions, 5 industry symposiums, and more than 400 scientific posters are planned in order to discuss current issues related to myology, discoveries and new developments, progress in the identification of new genes, innovative therapies including the latest developments in gene therapy for the treatment of the entire muscle mass… The original objective of this event is to enable experts in the field to share their work with others to advance knowledge about neuromuscular diseases and contribute to the emergence of therapies.
