Clinical Research Physician for I-Motion - 22/04/2024

The Institute of Myology

Located in Paris, at the heart of the largest hospital in Europe, La Pitié-Salpêtrière, the Institute of Myology was created in 1996 by AFM-Téléthon, an association of patients and parents of patients. Its aim is to promote the existence, recognition and development of myology as a clinical and scientific discipline in its own right. The Institute of Myology coordinates, medical care, fundamental research, applied research, clinical research and teaching, all patient-centered.

The Association Institut de Myologie, an association under the French law of 1901, was created in 2005 by the AFM-Téléthon as a support structure for this group.

The I-Motion Adult platform, located within the Institute of Myology and created in July 2019, is a clinical research platform dedicated to the implementation and conduct of clinical trials on neuromuscular diseases affecting adult patients.

Located at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, the platform works in close collaboration with the Neuromyology Service, the Hospital’s Reference Center for Rare Neuromuscular Diseases, and the I-Motion Pediatric platform at the Trousseau Hospital.

There is also constant interaction with the research teams at the Myology Research Center, as well as with the various entities within the AFM-Telethon galaxy (Genethon, AFM, etc.).

Position Activity

Under the supervision of the Clinical Trial Investigators :

  • Coordinate one or more clinical trials and provide medical follow-up for patients included in these trials.
  • Help build a reference department in terms of shared best practices and common tools with other centers.
  • Organize database management, including management of stakeholders such as ARCs, partners and scientific experts.

Main tasks

  • Identify, enroll and monitor patients in clinical trials, ensuring compliance with protocols, regulations and good clinical practice. In this context, an AP-HP shift will be set up in the Neuromyology department (also open to general practitioners)
  • Collaborate with the principal investigator, CRO, sponsor and other study stakeholders
  • Write research and activity reports
  • Prepare and participate in clinical trial selection, set-up, monitoring, close-out and audit visits as required
  • Participate in team meetings and in managing the platform’s quality assurance system
  • Provide scientific input for the development of new clinical research projects

Candidate profile

  • Medical diploma validated in France, and registered with the Conseil de l’Ordre
  • Experience in a clinical field related to the activities of the I-Motion Adult platform would be appreciated: Neurology, Neuromyology, Clinical Research, but position open to beginners
  • Experience in clinical research is a plus
  • Fluent working English

Position

This position is available as soon as possible on a 12-month fixed-term contract, part-time or full-time depending on your availability. On-call absences. Support for training and scientific events as required.
