On the 13th of February 2006, the French association against myopathies (AFM) organised their first workshop concerning therapeutic approaches to myopathies. The workshop that took place at the Génocentre in Evry, France, was a successful gathering of about 20 enthusiastic experts from a variety of muscle disciplines, all of whom receive financial support from the AFM. The presentations allowed to discuss and review advances in the treatment of neuromuscular diseases. A few of the highlights of this workshop are summarized.
