10th session - 2007

Students of SSM2007
The 10th edition of the Summer School of Myology was held from the 13th-22nd of June 2007, at the Institute of Myology.

This year, 37 students representing 23 different nationalities from five continents attended the course. This is the first year that registrations exceeded the allocated number of places and 15 students had to reschedule their attendance to next year.
Many Americans originating from Latin or Central America (7 students from Mexico, Peru, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina) and the USA (2 representatives) were present. Among Asian students, 2 came from Iran, 1 from Lebanon, 1 from Armenia, 4 from India and 1 came from China. As always, many Europeans attended, particularly participants from several Eastern European countries including Romania and Hungary and the Balkans (Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia). From Western Europe, students attending included 1 Danish, 1 German, 3 Spanish and 4 French, including 2 from the French Overseas Territories (Reunion Island and New Caledonia). Finally, 2 students came from North Africa (Algeria) and for the first time, a student
from West Africa (Burkina Faso) attended.
Another improvement this year: several students were sponsored and the grants covered a whole or part of their travelling expenses and summer school registration.

In addition to the courses and workshops that took place during the 10 days, the students had the possibility of visiting the Jean-Martin Charcot library located near the Institute of Myology. At the end of their stay, students and their families, speakers, organizers and sponsors all met at the restaurant “Chez Gégène” for the gala dinner.
