Biotherapies for Neuromuscular Diseases

Luis Garcia
Luis Garcia Group

Our research program mainly concerns (i) the comprehension of physiopathological mechanisms of muscular dystrophies and (ii) the development of innovative gene, cell and splicing therapy and RNA interference therapeutic strategies, whose advancement will allow to anticipate, in the near future, important developments in the biotechnological and clinical fields.

Our fundamental research activity, including development of therapies will be supported by a molecular biology technological platform dedicated to the development and production of gene vectors and by a privileged collaboration with the Alfort and Nantes veterinary schools for preclinical studies in large animals.

Martine Barkats
Martine Barkats Group

Our research focuses on the development of biotherapy strategies for motor neuron diseases such as spinal muscular atrophies (SMA) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
We are also working with various partners on the development of models or gene therapy strategies for other neurodegenerative or neurologic disorders
