The Department of Human Genetics is looking for a post-doctoral researcher for its team investigating new therapeutic strategies for patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The strategies use antisense oligoribonucleotides (AONs) to correct the genetic defect in the gene coding for dystrophin. The current projects aim to analyze the effect of this therapy in more detail and to further improve the efficacy of the therapy by investigating the possible synergistic effects of other therapeutic approaches applied in combination with the gene correction therapy.
We are seeking candidates with a PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related discipline and preferably a background in muscle physiology.
